Happy New Year

With the first full week of 2015 wrapping up we hope everyone had a great holiday season and wish everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year. 

We also wanted to remind everyone that dues increased by $30 as of Jan 1, 2015.  If you have any questions about this please contact a board member or Dawn at dawn@askaa.com.  As we have stated by raising the dues we are hoping to make a good financial situation in our community even better.

As far as goals for 2015 the board wants to get the driveways and street sealed.  We tried to get it done in 2014 without much luck.  We want to improve the pool maintenance over 2014 and we need to continue to work on a solution to the deck issue in the community.  Many of the decks in the community are in less than ideal condition and we need to come to a decision that is in the best interest of the community from a financial, reliability and ascetics point of view.  This is the biggest financial decision we have made as a community and its imperative that we make the best decision for the community.  Please bear with us as we go through the process.  If you have any comments, or suggestions we are more than happy to hear them.  whether it’s for the decks, pool, community etc.    

Talking about the pool there are 127 days until the pools opens, we are shooting for Saturday May 16^th. 

We will give a yearend financial update as soon as we get the numbers back from our accountant, early February.  We will also share our audited numbers later in 2015.   We met our reserve goals for 2014 and hope to be able to do the same in 2015.  Please, please, please if you have any questions about the numbers please contact our treasurer Ed Fortunato, he would be happy to share. 

Our meeting plans are for a community meeting on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 23, and our election meeting the third Friday in September.  Save the dates.  The board also meets more frequently and holds weekly conference calls, if you have any topics you would like discussed please let us know and we can discuss them in a timely manner. 

If you are interested in formally participating in the community (many are very generous with their time on an informal basis) please contact a board member, there are pool committees, landscaping committees that have positions open.  These positions can be very rewarding and enable you to meet many people from the community. 

Finally our blog has exceeded 10,500 views, about 40 views per post on average.  If you have any ideas for the blog or want something to be posted or added please feel free to let us know.
