With the start of painting and pressure washing the decks will be pressure washed. Pressure washing will NOT restore the wood to its original condition. 8 to 9 years of exposure, previous washings, sealing, staining etc. have taken their toll on the wood. Pressure washing removes dirt, debris and some discoloration. Our contractor has assured us he will be very careful when he does the pressure washing. The board is exploring the color and type of product we will be using to seal the deck. The board wants to balance attractiveness, durability and uniformity.
