Some winter reminders

With the peak of cold weather upon us we wanted to remind our neighbors of some important items to check on and keep maintained in our homes

First our homes temperatures should be set to at least 50 degrees when not at home, having temps below this poses a risk to our neighbors, in addition the batteries in our thermostats should be replaced regularly

Please check the batteries and condition of your smoke alarms and CO detectors, properly working devices are very important to peoples safety

In addition, since our places are 10+ years old many devices in the home are nearing the end of their useful lives

Many experts say Smoke and CO devices should be replaced after 10 years
Sump pumps do not have indefinite life spans
Neither do hot water heaters

It would be prudent to have these devices checked for the safety, reliability and comfort of your home.
