The members of the board of Island Gate has noticed numerous infractions over the last 8 months regarding storage of flotsam under the decks in our community. The by-laws explicitly state that there is to be nothing stored under the decks. There were two posts on the blog regarding this issue in April and July. The threat of hurricane Irene changed this issue from an ascetic issue to a safety issue. Blowing debris is a safety hazard. It is essential that all items under the deck including but not limited to; garbage cans, storage containers, coolers, tiki torches, pallets, boats, tables, chairs, propane tanks, bikes, tools and toys be removed immediately from the property and/or stored inside the house.
The property will be inspected in mid November by the board and violation letters will be distributed and fines implemented for violators shortly thereafter. It is essential that all items be removed ASAP. This notice isn’t meant to be an inconvenience or to inflict fines but to address a safety hazard in our community.
